NONE OF IT IS WASTED.
Milani found out today that her mom and dad almost got a divorce 11 years ago, and it moved her intensely.
To be honest, we’ve had many reasons to divorce in the 23 years of our relationship. As early as 3 years ago.
Sharing our stories with our kids is so important. They need to hear about when God pulled mom and dad out of something and how God’s hand was on that thing and that His timing was always (and still is) perfect.
Stories of how we didn’t even know there was still sin in our life but slowly, in God’s timing, the Holy Spirit whispers when it’s time to chisel something out of our character. Sanctification is super fun.
The spiritual markers that scream “GOD HAS BEEN HERE” need to be passed down so that our children know what’s come before them and have hope that God is with them and will always be with them when they have their own family.
Pass down the stories of hard stuff so our kids see God as a loving God that just wants the best for us and will do whatever it takes to bring us back to Him.
There is hope in the eyes of my daughter today because she has heard the whole story, like her brothers have. The story of how God had a plan even when mom was worldy and attention-seeking and dad was mad at a God he didn’t even believe in.
GOD IS GOOD.
HIS TIMING IS PERFECT.
IT’S ALL DIVINE.
NONE OF IT’S WASTED.
WE HAVE HOPE😭
If you’re reading this and you have experienced divorce, first let me tell you my heart aches for the pain you’ve experienced. The few times we have walked down that path were excruciating. I’m so sorry. Jesus loves you, He’s not mad at you, and He’s still using it all for your good. None of it’s wasted, dear friend.
