AUTUMN MAGIC: WHY WE’RE ABSOLUTELY SMITTEN WITH THIS SEASON
I hope today’s post finds you well and you feel comforted by the cozy embrace of fall! The leaves haven’t started changing much around these parts yet, but the air is starting to feel crisp and it makes me so happy!
Fall has always held a special place in my heart, and I know many of you feel the same. It got me thinking…why do we like it so much?
I started making a list in my journaling time and thought I would share. Tell me if these are true for you too.
- Watching the changing of the leaves from green to many shades of yellows, reds, and browns.
- Finally some relief from the summer heat. The cooler temps that make us get out our cozy sweaters and scarves, hot coffee always in hand.
- The fresh fall harvest of pumpkins, apples, and squash that sit on everyones porch as decorations or on the kitchen counter for fall baking.
- Activities like apple picking, hay rides, corn mazes, visiting the pumpkin patch, and pumpkin carving that give us a reason to slow down and spend time with our families.
- The traditions of fall meals, especially at Thanksgiving!
- Speaking of food…don’t you just love fall comfort food like stews, soups, pies, baked goods?
- Making a cozy fall atmosphere with my diffusers, lamps, candles (non-toxic of course) and blankets.
- Outdoor activities like bonfires, hiking, and camping are way more enjoyable for us when it’s cooler outside.
- The nostalgia of our childhoods during this season remind us of the family traditions we want to carry on and continue with our own family.
- The symbolism of this season always does me in. Autumn is often seen as a time of change and transformation, both in nature and in life. The shedding of leaves and preparation for winter symbolizes personal growth and reflection for many of us.
What would you add to the list? It’s seriously no wonder why this season is loved by so many. Tell me what your favorite part of autumn is and also, do you call it fall…or autumn?!
