2024 Word of the Year
2023, you were a doozy.
I had no idea that within a few short months of ringing in the new year (four months to be exact) I would have to start taking my dad to the doctor because he suddenly couldn’t walk and we would find out we were moving.
I had no idea that a month later we would find out my dad had a brain tumor. I had no way of knowing that 28 days later, my dad would pass away, fighting to recover from two brain surgeries and cancer all over his body.
There were times I had to decide, “do I spend time with my son before he leaves to boot camp? Or go be with my dad in the hospital? Or do I stay home and pack?”
When I think back on 2023, it’s exhausting. I literally cannot believe everything I endured but 2023, you were filled to the brim with wisdom. I’ll never be the same because of what I walked and all I kept doing was clinging to TRUST and BELIEVE (my words of the year). And as hard as 2023 was, there’s always someone that had it worse than me.
I feel like as soon as 2024 came I let out a big sigh. Seasons come, but thank goodness seasons gotta GOOOO.
2024, I’m ready for you…my word is RESTORE.
🔥I am ready to go into enemy territory from a strong position of victory and TAKE BACK GROUND the devil sought to steal from me.
🔥I don’t war with sadness or regret, I am just full of peace, and it’s powerful enough to take back what the enemy had influence in and get it back in Jesus’ name.
🔥My peace intimidates the enemy. He knows it’s me coming because I am in unity with God and my family and my shoes of peace are in tact.
True peace is known and measured against the backdrop of commotion, confusion, and chaos. You’ll know when you know. Somedays, “restore” for me will be releasing a new program, other days “restore” will look like sweat and tears in the gym. Somedays “restore” will look like finishing the book I started before dad died.
I’m taking back ground because overwhelming victory is mine through Christ.
The wisdom from 2023 is my coal and Christ is my flame. Let it burn baby!
