2020 HOLIDAY CALENDAR

Woo Hoo! It’s time it’s time! This year I chose to keep things super simple because I wanted to get this out to you all sooner than I usually do. It’s holiday calendar time! If you’re new around here, I would check this out first!

What’s a Holiday Calendar?

We love the holidays.  (Like, really really love it.)  We used to be so sad when it was all over.  It always seems like it’s over in a snap and we’re left like…wait what happened here?

Our Holiday Calendar is basically a calendar of activities to do in your home during the month of December so that once the month is over, you don’t feel like any time has been wasted! We give ourselves something to do ON PURPOSE everyday in December. When you are intentional with family time in December, you feel so dang full of joy!

Why Do We Do a Holiday Calendar?

It forces us to celebrate and focus on what’s important to us, and once Christmas is over we truly feel like we’ve really experienced Christmas!  Once December comes, we force ourselves to make family time a priority to help us refocus, refresh and truly enjoy what’s most important. Also…YOUR KIDDOS WILL LOVE IT!

How Do I Make a Holiday Calendar?

Grab a blank calendar and start penciling in activities! I made one for you here! This can be as full or simple as you want! You can do activities every day, or once a week. Some moms have told me they do weekends only. AWESOME! Something to remember: your children are going to love every minute of this so there is no need place perfection here. The holiday calendar also includes an envelope to be opened each day.  The kids love this because it’s kinda like opening presents early. I just use a simple ol’ index card and white envelopes from the Dollar Store! Write the day of December it’s supposed to be opened.

I Need Help Thinking of Activities

There are a ton of ideas here:
Wiginton Holiday Calendar (this blog explains a lot)
2019 Holiday Calendar
2018 Holiday Calendar

And here’s our 2020 Holiday Calendar for you to print out! It has what activities we’re doing, what to write on your card, and what ingredients you need! If the activities and/or recipes are from Pinterest, that is noted as well! This should help you get started, or just take my plan and do it!

The time has come friends. Thanksgiving marks the beginning of so much family time and joy with who I am blessed to still have here in my life. I pray your holiday season is a blessing! Let me know if you do any activities this season! Tag me on social media so I can see!

xo,
Hattie
