🦃Thanksgiving week! Closed the laptop, put on 🦃Thanksgiving week! Closed the laptop, put on our walking shoes and chased the sunset. Not sure if everything can wait until Monday, but it was a good idea lol. The checklists and laundry will always be there friends!
I used to believe that if I just planned my days p I used to believe that if I just planned my days perfectly, I’d finally feel fulfilled… but I was wrong.😔 For years, my focus was being organized and structured — it gave me comfort when everything was in its place. Every part of my day was planned, every sticky note had a to-do list, and there were chore charts for everyone. 📋 But there was a moment when I realized that even with all the boxes checked, none of it mattered. And that moment was when I almost lost my family.💔 When this tough season came over a decade ago, my perfectly structured planners and to-do lists couldn’t hold me together. I found myself craving the things I treated like they’d always be there…until they weren’t: quality time with family, the simple joys of a morning with my kids, the luxury of a “boring season”. 🏡 Tough seasons have a way of making us ache for what was normal and boring yesterday…before it was painful. That season was horrible and gut wrenching, but it taught me something powerful…being organized isn’t the goal. And I received my biggest gift from God — the gift of TIME. ⏰ No, I didn’t get more time, it was that my perspective of time changed dramatically and I’ve never been the same since. This perspective shift made me want to make space for what truly matters. I started to slow down and welcome the rhythms of each season, leaning into what God was calling me to focus on, and it changed everything. 🍂 If you’re ready to step off the hamster wheel of the daily grind and find some peace for yourself, you’re in the right place. I know everyone is in Christmas mode already, but I know everyone is in Christmas mode already, but I’m still living for fall right now!🍂🍂 I love planning. I love the seasons. And I love simple ways to be intentional! Every time the season changes I find ways we can invite that season into our home and here is one of our favorites! The boxes were a tad too small when I did this so adjust the size up a bit. (I did 150 for the row size and 200 for column size, so I would make those a smidge bigger) When you’re ready to add in your activities, here’s what we usually add in: ⬇️ 🍿seasonal movies 🎲board games / card games 🥧seasonal snacks 🖍️seasonal crafts Make this your own tradition, however it works best for your family! If it’s a busy night, we simply skip pulling a sticky note. Don’t complicate it and don’t assume since you can’t do it every night that you might as well not do it. Do what you CAN do, don’t focus on what you can’t. My daily chores! ✨🧺🧹 hopefully this wasn’t too chaotic lol. As a midlife mom with older kids, I have a little more personal freedom to work on personal goals than I did when the kids were littles. But for me, my family comes first so I’ll push pause on a work project in order to serve my people🥰 These daily chores have helped me balance my personal goals and family so well for many years!
